“My daughter and I both train. RGA is a place where we are supported, feel safe and train hard… As a woman it was very comforting to find a large group of women who welcomed me with open arms.”
Confident kids who don't need to fight
Jiu jitsu teaches kids to control a situation without throwing a punch. They learn to stay calm when it gets hard, to listen, and to respect their partners. Every class starts with the same motto: be strong, have good manners, and use teamwork.

Bullying stops being scary
Kids who know they can handle themselves stop looking like targets. We teach them to use words first, walk away when they can, and control the situation if they can't.
- Stands up straighter and speaks up
- Handles frustration without melting down
- Follows instructions the first time
- Makes friends with kids who also work hard
Is your child being bullied right now? Call us at 203-571-9375 and we'll talk it through with you.
Stripes and belts on the kids system
Kids rank through the IBJJF kids belts, earning stripes along the way. Each stripe is a goal they can reach in weeks, not years.

Parents are welcome too
Watch class from the lounge, or train yourself. Some of our adult members started because their kids did.
Before your first class
Is jiu jitsu safe for kids?
Kids train with partners their own age and size, under a professor for the whole class. There is no striking in the kids program. The focus is on control, not hurting anyone.
My kid isn't athletic. Will they fit in?
Most kids who walk in aren't. Jiu jitsu rewards patience and technique, and the quieter kids often do best.
Jiu jitsu or karate?

What does the free week include?
A full week of classes in your child's age group. You'll see the professor, the other kids and the routine before you decide anything.
Families who train here
“As a 40+ year old woman I was doing it for the kids… I kept showing up. Two years later I'm a blue belt and training at least 5 times a week. I've gained so much confidence on so many levels (so have my children).”
“I walked in there my 1st very intimidated and didn't know what to expect… No tough guy egos, everyone helps each other. I drive almost an hour to class and pass by many other BJJ facilities, nothing compares.”
